Supporting Artists & Simplifying Event Management
Wide World for Refugee is a leading nonprofit organization that supports local artists, as well as for-profit organizations, nonprofits, and city agencies, by connecting them to meaningful opportunities.
Artists often rely on short-term or occasional engagements to earn income. Many perform at 20–30 events each year, which can result in multiple tax documents and a complicated, time-consuming tax filing process. Event organizers face similar challenges, often contracting 5–10 artist groups per event, which requires extensive administrative work and coordination.
This is where Wide World for Refugee steps in.
We support both artists and event organizers by reducing administrative workload and minimizing risks, including identity theft for artists. We strive to pay artists promptly—often immediately after their performance—while coordinating reimbursement with the event organizer. This allows event organizers to make a single, streamlined payment, regardless of how many artists are involved.
