My brothers and sisters,

Today, I speak to the dreamers who crossed oceans with nothing but courage in their hearts. I speak to those who carried pain in one hand and hope in the other. I speak to you—the refugees and immigrants of this nation—not as strangers, not as outsiders, but as fellow builders of the American story.

You belong.

Yes, you. With your accent, your faith, your colors, your scars, your music, your silence, your fears. You belong—not because someone gave you permission, but because you have earned your place with every step you took toward freedom, with every tear you shed in silence, with every job you worked twice as hard to keep.

I know the road is hard. I know the rules often feel written to exclude you. I know that racism, prejudice, and systems of injustice have tried to convince you that you are “less than.” But let me tell you something that no law, no policy, and no voice of doubt can take away from you:

Your worth is not up for negotiation. Your humanity is not a question mark. Your presence is not a problem—it is a blessing.

You belong in the classroom, not just as students, but as teachers.

You belong in the workplace, not just as workers, but as leaders.

You belong in the community, not just as guests, but as changemakers.

You belong in this country—not in the shadows, but in the light.

Don’t let fear steal your voice. Don’t let silence bury your story. The language may be different, the culture unfamiliar, but your identity is your power. You bring with you a strength born of survival. You bring resilience that cannot be taught in schools. You bring solutions, not problems. You bring ideas, not burdens. You bring culture, not conflict.

And let me say this clearly: no one has the right to make you feel small because of where you come from. You are not here to beg—you are here to contribute. You are not broken—you are rebuilding. You are not invisible—you are rising.

When you feel alone, remember this: millions before you have walked the same path—and built bridges with their footsteps. Every immigrant story is a brick in the foundation of this country. This land is not whole without your voice in its choir, your food on its tables, your hands in its labor, and your children in its future.

So walk boldly. Learn fiercely. Speak loudly. Love fully.

And when the world says, “You don’t belong,” you look it in the eye and say:

“I am here. I matter. I belong.”

Thank you—and never forget who you are. Keep rising. Keep believing. Keep building. This country needs you more than it knows.

And we will not stop until every refugee, every immigrant, every forgotten voice, is no longer made to feel like a guest in their own story.

You belong. Always.
